Our Speakers
Bob Herring, Keynote Speaker As a school principal, Bob was recognized for his work in encouraging his students to be Global Citizens. He is the co-author of Connecting across Cultures - Global Education in Grades K-8 (Rowan & Littlefield 2011), the recipient of the Global Educator Award from the National Peace Corps Association and the Global Citizenship Award from the Finnish United Nations Association. In 2006 the US Department of Education named him a National Distinguished Principal. Bob is the Treasurer of International School-to-School Experience and currently serves as the President of the Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister City Partnership and Chair of the Cincinnati USA Sister City Association. |
Dave Kalan, Presenter Dave has held a leadership role for the past 29 years at the local level with the Friendship Force of Greater Milwaukee, at the national level as a Field Rep and at the international level on the FFI Board of Directors. During his 6 ½ years on the FFI board, Dave led projects on leadership development, global membership, club development and mentors to generate ideas to attract younger people to Friendship Force and to help struggling clubs. For the last several years, Dave has been conducting regional leadership training and training for leaders of new international clubs. Recently, Dave joined the FFI staff as a part-time volunteer to focus on leadership development and new member orientation. |
